The overall band score in IELTS is simply the average of the 4 individual band scores. And, the result is rounded to its nearest whole/half band and reported.
Note: If the average of the 4 component band scores ends at .25, then the band score is rounded to the next half band and delivered. If the average ends at .75, then the band score is rounded to the next whole band.
