SAT Exam Registration: Students who wish to take the SAT Exam must first register for the exam. The SAT is an important exam for students who want to pursue their bachelor’s degree in one of the top study abroad countries, such as the United States or Canada. Students may register for the SAT using either the mailing system or the more flexible online method. Candidates using the online method must first create a login id on the official SAT website before proceeding with the registration process. Check SAT Preparation Plan to achieve high score.
SAT Online Registration
Below are the steps for SAT Exam Registration Through Online:
- Visit the official website of the College Board.
- Create an account for yourself.
- Submit all of the required information.
- Choose which exam you want to give along with your nearest test center.
- Upload clear photo of yours
- Pay the application fee.
SAT Registration by Mail
The quickest and most convenient way to register for the SAT is to do so online. You’ll need to ask your counsellor for the Student Registration Booklet for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests if you need to register for the SAT by mail (also known as paper registration) (registration form and return envelope are included). You’ll also need the following for SAT Exam Registration via Mail:
- A suitable photograph
- A form of payment
- A clergy letter, if applicable
- If necessary, a fee waiver card
- For SAT test dates in August, October, November, December, March, May, and June, you can register by mail. Students can register for September classes either online or over the phone.
Registering Through an SAT International Representative
SAT Exam Registration through an International Representatives, also known as international service providers, assist test-takers in their home countries. They will assist you with the following:
- Registration for the SAT
- Customer service in your native language
- Fee collection
You must register for the SAT on paper if you register through a SAT International Representative. The completed registration forms will be mailed to you in time for the early registration deadline by SAT International Representative

Online registration is now available for first-time Sunday test takers.
For test takers who are unable to take the SAT on Saturday due to religious reasons, Sunday testing is available.
Unless there is a conflict with a religious holiday, each Saturday test date is immediately followed by a Sunday test date.
Sunday Testing Instructions
- You can only request Sunday testing if your religion restricts you from taking the test on a scheduled Saturday day.
- It is not possible to test on both Saturday and Sunday.
- In India and Pakistan, Sunday testing is not available.
- Obtain a Letter from a Religious Leader.
If you want to take the exam on a Sunday, you must send a letter that meets the following requirements:
- Explains that the request is being made for religious reasons.
- Is printed on stationery from your house of worship
- Is a religious leader’s signature on it.
- Registering for Sunday Testing Online
You must complete the following steps the first time you register for Sunday testing online:
- Fill out your registration form online and choose a Saturday test date.
- To arrange Sunday testing, contact Customer Service.
- Customer Service will send you a secure email link to submit a signed clergy letter.
- Customer Service will transfer your Saturday registration to a Sunday date and test centre after you send the clergy letter.
- Make a copy of your admission ticket that includes the test date for Sunday.
Registering a Second Time
You can re-register for additional test dates online or by phone without having the clergy letter once you’ve registered for Sunday testing. Even for students who have already registered for Sunday exams, mailed registrations must always include a letter from a religious leader.
Requirements for Photo
With your paper registration form, you must include a recent photo. This photo will be included in your admission ticket, and test centre staff will compare it to your photo ID on test day to ensure security.
The following conditions must be met by your printed photo:
- It must be at least 2 x 2 inches in size and no larger than 2.5 x 3 inches in size.
- It’s not a laminated photo or an ID card.
- On the back, your name, date of birth, and high school code are written.
- The barcode is covered by the photo. Place clear tape around the photo’s four sides. Paper clips, staples, and glue should not be used.
- It’s properly focused with a full-face view, clearly identifies you, and appears like you on test day.
Avoid Delays in Processing
To avoid processing delays, you must fill out every field on the paper registration form that is shaded in red and marked “Required.” Incomplete or incorrect forms will not be processed, and you may be unable to take the SAT on the date you specify.
Your form will be returned to you to complete and resubmit if any needed information is missing. Here are some of the most common reasons for this:
- You failed to fill out the form’s “Required” fields with details.
- You left out the payment.
- You made a payment that was either insufficient or could not be processed.
SAT Slot Bookings
Since each designated SAT Test Center has a limited number of seats. To prevent any unnecessary hassle, candidates are advised to book their SAT exam slot in advance.
How to Cancel SAT Exam?
Candidates should be aware that they would not be entitled to a full refund if they cancel their SAT Test early. Candidates who have registered for the exam and are expected to cancel it will be eligible for a $10 refund if they cancel 5 days prior to the exam.
How do I reschedule or postpone my SAT exam?
Candidates must pay an additional fee of $30 to adjust their SAT Exam date. They must log into their SAT account and submit a request for a change of date.
